Wallpaper is typically applied over an existing painted wall of drywall
or plaster, or may be applied over a lining coat of wallpaper to hide
imperfections. Wallpaper is an easy and inexpensive way to add color, texture, and style to a room. Paper wallpaper, however, is somewhat vulnerable to damage because of the nature of the material and method of application. |

Vinyl wallpaper is sturdier than paper, and is well suited
for use in a kitchen or bathroom because it resists moisture. Vinyl
coverings may be laminated to paper, laminated to cloth, or be made of
vinyl-impregnated cloth with a paper backing. |
