 | Q. Is it important for an inspection company to
be a member of AAHI, BOCA, ICBO and NRCA?
These organizations, the Association of American Home Inspectors, the Building Officials
and Code Administrators, International Conference of Building Officials and National
Roofing Contractors Association set the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for the
home inspection industry. They also require continuing education far their membership. |
 | Q. Should an inspection company be insured?
A responsible inspection company will be fully insured. |
 | Q. How long will the inspection take?
A comprehensive inspection should take between 2 to 4 hours on an average size home. |
 | Q. What items will be inspected?
A full inspection should cover all the major components of the home and surrounding land. |
 | Q. When will I get the report?
As soon as the inspection is completed you will have the report. |
 | Q. What qualifies a person to be an inspector?
An inspector should have an extensive knowledge of construction and should be an
accredited member of AAHI, BOCA, ICBO and NRCA. (see

 | Q. Should the buyer be at the inspection?
It would be in the buyer's best interest to attend the inspection. You will be more
confident about your purchase when we review our findings, one on one with you. And
remember, an educated buyer becomes a satisfied owner. |
 | Q. How much will the inspections cost?
Remember, cheaper isnt necessarily better! Value is not just saving money, its
getting the most comprehensive inspection for the money. On average, a 3-bedroom, 2-bath
general inspection is $325.00. Or, approximately $100.00 per hour. |
 | Q. Are there any additional costs?
Concise charge extra for septic, well, termite, hazardous waste analysis, etc. It's
best to have everything included in one price so there are no surprises. Most times, we
can answer these question over the phone, to qualify costs before proceeding. |
