| We believe
that no civil engineer can properly advise a client on physical
needs of a building without consideration of environmental liability
issues, just as no environmental engineer can fully comprehend a
building's environmental history without a working knowledge of
historic building systems. We provide Phase 1 and Phase 2
Environmental Analyses (EAs), as well as separate radon and asbestos
testing. |
- A Phase I EA is
basically a research project of a site’s environmental
stability. It requires an knowledge of historical building and
construction methods as well as an understanding of
environmental engineering. We can determine the dangers in
everything from electrical systems to asbestos contamination. We
also do not recommend going to a Phase 2 EA without due need.
|
- A Phase 2 EA goes
further in both locating and solving problems, incorporating
techniques such as boring to more accurately determine a site's
environmental stability and methods to fix current environmental
problems. It includes geological surveys, lead hazard
detection and management, asbestos testing, and septic tank
inspection.
